Planning Your Trip

1. Specify the Origin and the Destination by entering:

  • an address, e.g. 3000 Watt (Do not include directions or street types, such as N, West, Ave., Blvd.)
  • OR
  • an intersection, e.g. Watt and Marconi, or Watt @ Marconi or Watt & Marconi OR
  • a landmark from the drop down list
NOTE: If an address cannot be found, use the nearest intersection instead. Be sure to include spaces between words. For numbered street names, include the ordinal number abbreviation such as 3rd, 29th, 21st, etc.

If the information that you enter can be interpreted in more than one way, a list of possible matches is returned, so that you can choose the one you want and proceed.

2. Enter a date/time for departure or arrival:

By default, Trip Planning assumes that your request is made for today, departing at a time close to the current time. To change the default settings:

  • Select either the depart or arrive option button;
  • Enter the time and choose am or pm option button (If you do not specify am or pm, accurate itinerary results may not be provided.);
  • Enter the date you would like to travel or select a date from the calendar

NOTE: Date selection is important as Regional Transit provides different levels of service on different days. A trip valid on a given weekday may not be available on the weekend, or on a future weekday after a seasonal service change.

Trip Planning will find itineraries based on the exact time provided. Remember times at some stops are estimated based on normal conditions and actual times may vary slightly. Please allow sufficient walking time to/from your Origin/Destination.

3. Preferences

The Sort my Results by option buttons enable you to optimize your itinerary search results. Select either:

  • Trip Time - sorts itineraries by the shortest trip;
  • Number of Transfers - sorts itineraries by the fewest transfers;
  • Walking Distance - sorts itineraries by the shortest walking distance;

Selecting the appropriate Fare provides the costs associated with your trip.
